Once upon a time an acquaintance of mine, who knew I was a counsellor and life coach, phoned and asked if they could just have a chat with me. This person didn't want to go to a counselling session or make an appointment, they just wanted to speak to someone impartial.
Throughout our chat I mostly just listened, but we managed to clarify the issues and spoke about alternative ways of dealing with their problem.
And that was that - a way forward had been found.
Sometimes, just by talking about something we can pull the different aspects together. Sometimes we're just too involved to see 'the wood for the trees'. It can happen in our personal lives as well as at work.
We realised, this could become a valuable service for people who have something that they want to talk about, people who don't want to wait for an appointment or sign up for a series of sessions.
And so My Friend on the Phone was born.
We do not take credit card details, there is no sign-up, and we do not ask for any personal information. Because our charges are paid on the caller's phone bill, their anonymity is maintained.
We continue to offer our formal life coaching service at www.beveryhappy.co.uk but now if you just want someone to talk to here and now, about anything at all, all you need to do is pick up the phone.
